Matheson Ormsby Prentice named best law firm to work for in
Ireland
Leading Irish
corporate law firm Matheson Ormsby Prentice has been recognised
as the first Irish law firm to be selected as one of the 50
Best Companies to Work for in Ireland 2007. The announcement
was made at the fifth annual awards ceremony held by the Great
Place to Work Institute Ireland in the Crowne Plaza Hotel, yesterday
evening (Wednesday, 28 February 2007).
Matheson Ormsby Prentice, which saw its workforce
grow to over 500 employees last year, has made a significant
investment in services and facilities for its people over the
last number of years. The firm will soon move to its new offices
at Sir John Rogerson's Quay, where the priority in designing
the building was to create an absolute "best in class"
working environment for its people. Flexible working hours,
an occupational health programme, an in-house gym and free conveyancing
services along with the opportunity to participate in charity
and community involvement programmes in Ireland and in developing
countries overseas are among the benefits offered to staff working
at Matheson Ormsby Prentice.
Commenting on the award, the firm's Managing
Partner, Liam Quirke, said: "We are pleased to receive
this award which recognises the values that we embrace as a
firm, especially our focus on creating an environment of excellence
for our people. The creation of a centre of excellence for our
people was also our number one priority when designing our new
award-winning headquarter offices in Dublin's Docklands."
The Great Place to Work Institute conducts
similar studies in more than 27 countries world-wide. These
annual surveys are considered to be the most comprehensive studies
of workplace culture in the world.
