Interlex is not a partnership or joint venture, and each member firm is, and will continue to be, solely responsible for its own work product and staff. In all instances, clients’ interests are paramount. Interlex firms pay no referral fees to one another, and if a member firm does not specialize in a particular area of expertise, it will recommend another local firm that does. This is in keeping with The Interlex Group's primary purpose: to provide top quality service to clients.

In addition to highly selective membership criteria, the strength of Interlex® is derived from the personal relationships fostered between lawyers in different countries. These relationships are formed and cultivated by annual meetings of the group as a whole, through periodic meetings of specialists with one another, and, of course, by regularly working together for clients. Interlex members believe that close personal relationships enable them to call upon one another with confidence, thus setting Interlex apart from many law firm associations which are mere collections of names in directories.
